Consent Mode v2
Google's API for transmitting user consent state to GA4, Ads, and other Google services.
Google Consent Mode v2 is the API that transmits user consent state from a Consent Management Platform (CMP) to Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, and other Google services. It enables modeling of consent-restricted conversions and analytics signals while respecting GDPR, CCPA, and emerging privacy regulations. Required for European Economic Area traffic and increasingly mandatory for consent-heavy compliance contexts. Implementation requires a CMP (OneTrust, Cookiebot, Iubenda) integrated with GTM. Empire325 implements Consent Mode v2 as a standard component of compliant data infrastructure builds.
